WKZE Finally Streaming

Just wanted to note that my old stomping ground, WKZE-FM in Sharon is finally streaming their signal with a 20k WMA stream via Abacast.

I knew when they switched hands it would finally happen. It sounds good and with shows like Marshall Crenshaw's 'Bottomless Pit' and Todd Mack's 'Off The Beat-n-Track Radio Show' it's gonna get better!

http://www.wkze.com/ and click "Listen Live" to get the Abacast plugin.

1020 is now WHDD and I believe is not tied with WKZE, but I could be wrong on the second part.

Speaking of Tri-State Public Communications I noticed they have applied for a construction permit for 91.9 as a "full Service FM Station “.However their application is only for .75 KW and is highly directional south and east to protect first adjacent 91.7 WBSL SHEFFIELD MA . ,and WRNQ 92.1 Poughkeepsie . I wonder what this means for WHDD on 1020 AM which they are leasing from Willpower radio which is hamstrung by being a daytime only station, but covers considerably more area than the proposed new station whose proposed protected contour doesn't cover all of City of license Sharon CT. and barely reaches eastern NY because of WRNQ.

Re: Tri-State Public Communications application

Hello all! Yes the coverage area does seem small...but we are a non-profit communications company that wants to serve the immediate area with localized programming! Our local access television station on COMCAST, and our LMA AM signal WHDD from Willpower Radio covers town meetings, sports events, plenty of local talk shows, and lots of interesting feature segments that apply to our little neck of the world! We are all volunteer, we make local newpaper stories, and even have editorials written about us locally! We are happy, and will continue to be happy offering diverse, local, volunteer, community radio and television that looks not to be big, and in competition with other stations, but to be committed to serving our little slice of heaven! 91.9 FM will provide a First Service non commercial radio to about 6,000 to 7,000 people that do not have it now, and that will make us, and hopefully them, happy in the end.
