WKZV 1110 Spanish ?

The Trib on 7/16/12 Reports an " Influx " Of Latinos in Washington County. Las Palmas is Opening a Store their to Serve the Spanish Community.Maybe WKZV should consider a Spanish Format !

It probably would have worked better if it was a local format and not a bartered format imported from Detroit. Someone eventually will have a Spanish format in the market but I doubt it will replace KZ Country. More likely will be someone who can do a regular program such as what Sal Patitucci does with Radio Italia on WEDO-810. With all the local choices for bartered programming, I'd bet on it.

I'm guessing that nothing will change at 1110 until the station is sold (unlikely), the transmitter finally
gives up the ghost (more likely), or the owners pass away.

And that's fine with me. I enjoy their Saturday classic-country show.

Yes, it worked so well on 540.

To be fair I have tuned into Spanish stations in other parts of the country which play much better
music than what 540 was playing.

The Mexican store in Brookline is doing quite well (albeit with quite a few Gringos lining up for the taco
stand on weekends)

I thought this said a "battered format" - but then again I guess the effect/meaning is generally the same.
