From what I read, the sealed bids for WLAB/FT Wayne should have been opened by now. Was a bid accepted?
Hi Bob. I have not heard a thing. I'll let you know if I hear anything. A business associate of mine submitted a bid. It's a tricky business model, but there is an opportunity to servce a unique audience and profit potential does exist beyond the broadcasting arena.BobOnTheJob said:From what I read, the sealed bids for WLAB/FT Wayne should have been opened by now. Hey Skip! You are exactly right. Especially with a specialized format like CCM. It has to be local and interactive with the community for it not only survive, but to be successful. It can be done, but it can't be looked upon as only a "business".skippertthomas said:Let me know if the bidding is still on.. I have a quality guy in Florida who has the money and the heart to keep CCM localized.. He missed out on Evansville by a hair.. Called to give his final bid and the station was just under an agreement to sell.. Guess who pulled it out from him (at a lower price than he would have paid by a few tens of thousands)??? EMF..... We have CCM now, but NO LOCAL interaction.... Already getting concerns from the Church community....
