WLAC and Neil Rogers

Does anyone know the date WLAC went talk?

Trying to figure out when Neil Rogers started at WLAC. He was there for about a month in October and/or November in 1980, as far as I can tell. ???
 
October 31, 1980 was the date WLAC went talk.

I remember listening to Neil and he would say something like it is 8:15 in Nashville, 9:15 in the civilized world. He certainly made me hate his guts at the time. I was too young to realize he was just doing a professional wrestling kind of act.

I enjoyed when he'd open up the phones with a segment called "dialing for neanderthals"... the bible thumpers were easy fodder
 
The date posted is precisely correct! Neil had a good time and was a pro all the way around, way ahead of his time in talk radio. He would go off on several things as part of show but when the mic was off, he really commented on and marveled at the "Bible thumpers". Ironically the same people that listed to him in Miami when he was there, listened to him on WLAC at night. When he returned to WNWS after the short period at WLAC, all those people down there would call him and read from or quote the Bible just to pi $ $ him off... Just about drove him nuts.
 
We have most of Neil's digital shows, but we are still looking for older shows from WNWS, WLAC, WINZ, WZTA, & WIOD. If anyone knows of Neil tapes please contact us at http://neilrogers.org
