WLAD finally goes on the web

Well, after many years of just a home page, Danbury's heritage AM station WLAD 800 AM now goes on the web. And there are also programming changes--including the return of Rush Limbaugh to WLAD; Glenn Beck also is on the station as are Dave Ramsey, Dr. Laura, Jim Bohannon, Portland, Oregon's Lars Larson and Nashville's Phil Valentine. They do local programming with Dave Rinelli from 6:00-9:00 M-F and Steve Maiolo Saturdays 6-10 AM.

The site looks good. WLAD is a blast from the past for me. I'm glad Dave Rinelli, someone I hired there back in the 80s, found a place in morning drive when his longtime afternoon slot went to syndication. Pete Summers did mornings there for 20 years before leaving for South Carolina in 2005. Times have changed - the Memory Weekend and Dialogue 80 long gone - but a station with local news and sports as well as a live, local morning show still has something unique to offer - and is certainly worthy of a website. I'll be very surprised if Bart isn't still saying, "This is the Radio 80 Sports Page..."
