WLAT 910 Off the Air

Yes, the electrical storm early Saturday morning did a number on their transmitter and since they don't have a working back-up rig they are up the creek so to speak. They may be off until they can get parts from the factory which would be Monday at the earliest.

It will be interesting to see what comes in on 910 tonight.

Location: Southington, Connecticut off Queen Street "behind former Shaw's Plaza". Radio: Factory Radio in my 1995 Pontiac Sunfire.

Time: 8:12PM Eastern

Stations: 900 CHML Hamilton was crystal Clear. 910 WABI Bangor, Maine. WABI's website says they're Maine's Health & Wealth Radio Network, but I heard them playing Standards Music. But I heard WABI Jingles. And I heard an Oldies Station on 920. Listened for 7 minutes didn't hear any type of station identification.

I'm in New Britain's south end. At 8:35 PM, I'm getting a decent signal of CHML-AM 900 from Hamilton, ON. I hear something faint waving in and out on 910 but don't know what it is. It sounded like the liner said "Memories 910". I'm getting a faint signal of WHJJ-AM 920 of Providence, RI. That was confirmed in the first 10 seconds by the words "Paw Sox". CJCH-AM 920 of Halifax was mixing with WHJJ-AM. Lastly, I'm getting a talk show on 930 AM. That's likely WBEN-AM 930 from Buffalo.

Daytime reception report: At 8:30 AM, I received a faint signal of WHJJ-AM 920 of Providence. I never get that here otherwise.

MarkB: What were you doing behind the former Shaw's Plaza? That store shut down last October and it's not going to re-open any time soon. ;D ;)
