WLEC 1450 Sandusky

What is this station up to now since the Dial Global Local "Lounge" format was discontinued? Their website still lists the Lounge jocks, and they don't stream except for local sports. Did they go with Dial Global's America's Best Music or switch to another format?

Last time I heard them they were network soft AC oldies....not really standards.

I have to be up on the west side Cleveland in the daytime in the next couple days, so I'll check 1450 out and post the info here, fair enough? In the daytime WLEC 1450 puts a listenable signal on most car radios on the far west side of Cleveland. FYI.

Chris In MI: Heard WLEC for about a half-hour this morning. It's what I assume is Dial Global. They kept saying: "America's Best Music".

A two-song set I heard: sounded like Tony Bennett doing "And I Love Her" (the Beatles'song) followed by the Turtles "Happy Together". No backsell of songs, then into a spot set, afterwards Rita Coolidge's "We're All Alone".

So, I guess you call that Pop-oldies/some standards???

Sounded like Jeff Rollins, but when I was listening he didn't say his name. I may be wrong...but, sounded like Jeff.

Hope that's the info you need.

Tim, that was exactly the info I needed. My suspicions are correct and they did indeed go with the Dial Global Total version. And you're all correct, it's not really true "standards," more of a super-soft AC with maybe two or so real standards each hour.

Thanks!
