After playing complete albums which was a mixture of oldies, singer/songwriters by various artists, It looks like WLEZ is back to a format similar to the old one. Mostly some instrumental Jazz and vocalists from the "American songbook" I've also heard what you could describe as mood music or easy listening from the 60s. I've heard a few crooners, and even some very old Jazz from the 78RPM era. Just heard "West End Blues" by Louis Armstrong, from 1928. I've heard a handful of oldies and "Misty Blue" by Dorothy Moore. But most of the music is from the Jazz era. , that doesn't get played as much as on WJSU. Mostly traditional and not that much smooth jazz and fusion.

Is Edward Back?

The station is jockless except for the legal ID. I didn't recognize the voice but I really wasn't paying attention. The music selection is kind of interesting, which seems to be right up Ed St. Pe's ally. Since he also sings songs like that himself on the side.

I heard the station yesterday. There was a voice, and it was the voice that was on the station before the station left the air. I heard a song from the Broadway show "Sweet Charity."

The voice sounds like Edward St. Pe. I'm not sure he's there. It could be an old tape. I believe he left and went to TV station down on the gulf coast. I like the format when I can pick it up through the static. I'm not sure people in Jackson will listen to 80 year old jazz records mixed in with show tunes and crooners.

On Tuesday, I heard music by Aaron Neville. The announcer came onto the air and told us, "Welcome back to WLEZ." I heard that twice.

The station did not seem to be on the air today (Wednesday) however.

very low audio level and one channel of the audio is missing. Suspicious Minds by Elvis had the horn section missing. That is a pet peeve of mine. I have seriously thought of mailing a "Y" adapter to stations that do this. 780 AM did off and on for years. Seriously, how is it that nobody notices or cares. Especially when you play "The Beatles" with the lead vocals missing.
