I see a new Radio Tower has gone up at the WAMO Radio Site in Millvale, Does this mean that 1550 WLFP is soon to be 2000 watts? The FCC site does not list the CP, But Radio Locator does.
Whether CBE is transmitting on AM or not, as long as the Canadian government continues to notify the U.S. of CBE-AM's existence the FCC must protect it from interference. Generally Canada *doesn't* "un-notify" silent stations. CKX-1150 Brandon, Manitoba, for example, had been off the air for years when I was last in Brandon ten years ago. The station is still notified.
And there is some possibility the frequency could be reactivated. Sometimes smaller AM stations take over these ex-CBC facilities for the improved coverage. (actually, given the high dial position I doubt CBE will see that fate, but I wouldn't be entirely surprised to see CKWW-580 take over the facilities of CBC Windsor's *French* station on 540.)
