WLFP was shutdown Tuesday at midnight. We are installing a new automation system and thought it would be easier to do the install without being on the air. We also wanted to remove some of the old cables from when 660 was co-located in the same control room. The old automation system was installed in 2004 and was having a few problems. A lot has changed between the older BSI Wavestation and the new BSI Simian. I hate learning curves. We also installed Natural Music. Tomorrow we start to load the library. With any luck, we will be back on the air Monday or Tuesday of next week.

I am surprised at the number of people who have enjoyed some of the songs we played in the last week.

I'm pretty sure "Let's Keep The Dodgers In Brooklyn" hasn't been played on any radio station anywhere
for the past 50 years.

:D

I Never heard The Learch, Lorne Green Singing Bonnaza. Walk on the wild Side Musical. But the All Time Favorite From TV. Guy Marks "Loving you has made me Bannas".

I Understand the new calls will be WZUM. Great will you use any old WZUM Jingles? ie "Top on the Dial WZUM." "WZUM 1550" " WZUM Another YesterPlay" They will Fit.

Just a matter of time until they're delighting 10s of listeners...

I don't think the last format even had 10s of listeners. Hopefully the next format will do better.

We didn't listen to it and our offices are close to the control room. As for 10 listeners, we had a lot more than 10 people call about the music played right before we shutdown the station. With any luck, we will get it on the air for the 4th.

The next time I have this great idea of buying a radio station, new automation system, new music scheduling software, and loading music into the system, just shoot me. This has taken a lot lot lot longer than I first estimated and is boring work.

Yes, it is a bit tedious. Getting KHB and KFB to where they are now was a long process, and they're
not even music stations, except at night.

By the same token, a lot of the pre-loaded stuff that came with Scott Studios had problems, and we
ended up redubbing much of it.

Well it is finally finished. The last problem with the legal ID was solved a few minutes ago. Now that I understand Natural Music and BSI's Simian, it is easy to use. Damn learning curve!

Time to kill off this Subject: as WLFP 1550 is now 1550 WZUM!
