WLIE--Clarification

Just to clarify the programming change made at WLIE and exactly what the arrangement is between its ownership and the Business TalkRadio Network:
Only one hour of local programming was eliminated from the program schedule
(8-9 AM, M-F). Our network morning show, which aired 6-8 AM, Monday through Friday, was replaced with another of our network programs. The local news, traffic and weather continue in all hours that David Weiss and Amanda Clarke were on the air.
Our company, the Business TalkRadio Network, operates certain hours of WLIE under a contract that began two years ago. We have an option to purchase the station--which we intend on exercising. For the most part, we maintain
Monday through Friday, 6 AM-7 PM and Saturdays from Noon-6 PM and Sundays from
11 AM-6 PM. WLIE ownership reserves the right to air our programming at any time in lieu of its brokered programming.
Two of the three individuals involved in our morning show remain with the company. Mark Goldman handles the news in morning drive as well as producing a show for our co-owned network, the Lifestyle TalkRadio Network(www.LifestyleTalkRadio.com). Amanda Clarke has also been reassigned to other duties within the company. Only David Weiss is no longer employed with us and we are confident he will land another position given this tremendous talent. We are assisting him in his employment search.
All three of these employees knew in advance of the programming change and handled themselves with great professionalism during the transition period.
Nobody knows better than me of the value of local radio. I have spent thirty years in the business, starting out as an air personality and moving into programming, general management and subsequently ownership. However, our networks provide programming to more than 850 stations across the country and the content we syndicate is also a major part of the programming hours we operate on WLIE.
I hope this clarifies the programming change made within the last week on WLIE as well as the relationship between WLIE ownership and the Business TalkRadio Network.

Thanks for the info, Jeff. Most exec's wouldn't give a message board like this the right time of day (ie TMO).
