WLIF - Flashbakck Weekend

Hi Baltimore. I noticed that WLIF has dropped it's flashback weekend. Their weekend playlist consists of their regular weekday rotation. No 60's and very few 70's songs. They dropped Casey Kasem AT-40 the 70's on Sunday Morning. They still carry Tom Kent on Saturday and Sunday Nights. Kent's Saturday Show is still Party Time Hits, but on Sunday Night WLIF now carries Kent's 80' show instead of his 70's show. I could be wrong but in the Baltimore area there no where to listen to classic Hits.

Get an HD radio and hear the Flashback Channel 24/7 on 101.9-HD2. Or stream it online like most of their listeners do.

Smart move. Mainstream ACs like LIF are getting out of the 70s business. Just do the math. A 45 year old female was born in 1967, was in high school and college in the 80s. Although her first childhood remembrances would be 70s music, her formidable years were the 80s. And today's 45 year old female is much more into current music and artists than her 45 year old counterpart from 10 years ago. Adult ratings for mainstream CHR stations around the country prove that. LIF is doing what it needs to do to remain relevant for it's target audience.

And, 102.7 will beat them to the christmas punch next week. Format change or publicity stunt for Jack?

I contacted Greg Carpenter from WLIF about this and he said that they are going in a different direction and if i wanted to hear oldies that i can get it on an HD channel.
