WLIR 107.1

Last night was probably one of the biggest nights in 107.1's history - broadcasting the All-Star game from ESPN. But when I tuned it in, the signal was "hiccupping" and "burping" all over the place. It finally got so bad that the station was silent more than audible. I've heard the signal do that before, but I figured they would have had their act together last night. Now I'm not sure why I thought that at all. You'd think someone from the Organization would be listening.

Thank goodness 1050 was coming in clear on the East End.

The same 107.1 owned by the Moron Corp?

The game was on 880 as well, but I didn't find out until I got home and had to listen to 1050 thru the Ether. Hey, I'll operate 107.1, since the current owners can't. They're too busy publishing Long Island's answer to the National Enquirer.

That would be the paper, that even though its free I dont take a copy, except in the winter, when I need some paper for my fireplace ;D

Didnt Amy Fisher have a section in that paper??

...the signal was "hiccupping" and "burping" ....
Actually I thought it was flatulence.
Their stations have been doing that nonsense for YEARS.
I'm amazed at how long they've let this go on without addressing it once and for all.
It's torture to listen to.

East end radio. Here is my vision. ESPN should move to 1570. With the Construction permit for the power increase, this could make sense. Put WBAZ back on 101.7 and simulcast it on 104.7. Put WBEA on 102.5, perhaps moving it a little further east, and simulcast it on 107.1. I know that this involves four different ownership groups, but that's what I would do.

ESPN 1450 from Atlantic City, NJ is the strongest AM signal in eastern Long Island during the day, and 1050 comes in well at night.
