If you have not visited Bob Wilson's WLIR.FM web site in a while, you're in for a major surprise.

I listened to it all of yesterday while at work. It's great! LOVE the music. I wish NY had a station that sounded like this on the airwaves. I've been on the "94.3 the shark isn't so bad"/"I wish RXP would come back" kick but hell... the truth is, I wish WLIR had a place on the dial again. If you're going to dream you may as well dream big. As for 94.3 - it's okay/listenable but they never play anything that isn't at least 5 years old - but most everything they play is at least 10 years old. I want to hear new music damnit! I don't want to rust and become a stuck in the past fossil.

"New Rock, New York" on 101.9 was the closest I have heard to "this is what 'LIR would sound like if it was still around".

RCN out east plays new rock. I've heard Halestorm, Volbeat, and Shinedown.
