WLIW reception problem?

Channel 21 indicated that they were switching to a new frequency and that a new scan would be needed for those who use an antenna. I did a rescan and can only get 21.2 from WLIW. All of the other stations are normal. Attempted a rescan of my other sets with their own antennas and the result is exactly the same. Is anyone able to tune in 21.1, 21.3 and 21.4, or are you just seeing 21.2? Were any other stations to do a frequency change, such as WWOR? I am wondering if I only get 21.2 because that station does not have a .2? Any ideas or news about this? So far, no response from WLIW. Thanks for any details.

WLIW's programming is now split across two signals: WNET (21-1, 21-3. and 21-4) and WCBS (21-2). If you do not receive WNET, you will not receive most of WLIW's programming.

Thanks very much for the reply. WNET's signal barely registered and now they have shifted more content there. If they wanted to give up a broadcast facility, they should have shut down WNET 13 and kept channel 21.

There's nothing wrong with the WNET facility other than it being on VHF. Get a VHF antenna and you'll also improve what I'm guessing isn't great reception for you of 7, 11 and 33.

I just checked my over-the-air channels and 21 was blank, along with its subchannels.

But then I did the re-scan and at first 21 was still not available. Then I slightly repositioned the antenna and sure enough, 21 and its subchannels are there now. I only moved the antenna a quarter of an inch. The reception now is good.

But you are right. Before now, 21 was stronger than 13 where I am too. Which is odd because 21 is licensed to Plainview Long Island. But I see on Wikipedia that both WLIW and WNET have their transmitters at One World Trade Center. As Scott Fybush says, that's likely because 13, as well as 7, 11 and 33 are VHF.

Wikipedia doesn't say that 21.2 is coming from WCBS-TV's signal. Maybe it hasn't been updated?
