WLLR-HD2 on arbitron.com

According to arbitron.com, there's a WLLR-HD2. It airs a mixture of country and rock. I E-mailed the program director and he confirmed this. But since I don't have an HD Radio (yet), I have some questions about this subchannel. Like, does this country-rock hybrid have it's own jocks? Or is it automated? Is it's playlist independent like WLLR's? Or is it affiliated with a radio network?--Scratch that, the only radio network (to date) that airs this format--The Bar by Waitt Radio Networks!

It's known as "Mother Trucker" anymore.

KALA also broadcasts in HD Radio now, with the main channel on 88.5-1, and a Spanish language format on 88.5-2.

Last I knew, KCQQ (Q106) was also broadcasting on 106.5-1, but I could be wrong.

I never got to hear WLLR-HD2. Could someone please place some audio clips here (if it's possible)? And do the other stations from the QCRG have anything planned? (Like 1950s-60s-70s music on KUUL, or maybe a live rock format on Q106....)

Well whoever it was you talked to from QCRG/CC was wrong. It is not the "Mother Trucker" format which it had been. It is not a mixture of Country from the 70s, 80s, and 90s.

KCQQ (Q106.5) is no longer broadcasting in HD, sadly. I was very disappointed in this.

When I got my portable HD Radio tuner, I had hoped to receive KZIA-HD2 (Cedar Rapids-Iowa City), which airs a format of 70s/80s/90s Hits (minus the hip-hop). Unfortunately, I'm just too far away to get it on a portable receiver.

The audio quality is SO MUCH BETTER THAN STANDARD FM.

Best Buy offers the Insignia Portable FM HD Radio Tuner for $50. That's not too bad. And I absolutely love mine. Although if you find an HD Signal, you may have problems as it will switch back and forth between standard FM and HD-FM.
