I was looking at an online TV Guide about a month ago and saw a listing for Good Morning Providence. Obviously they jumped the gun in listing the Morning Broadcast that way. I didn't think much of it after that. I figured that maybe it was a mistake. But now I see that it's finally here. Cool!

Will this also be the day that they change their music package? I sure hope so.

I am a long time reader of this board but first time poster. The WLNE of Now is so much better than the WLNE of before. The new owners are doing such a good job. The set looks great, the weather set looks fantastic. The anchor changes are great it was horrible to have solo anchors accept for the 6PM weekday news. I kinda wished the changes weren't so sudden, I had no time to prepare! I am happy for John Deluca for getting the 6 & 11PM back after being screwed over free-crap (freedom communications), I am happy they finally debuted Alison officially as the 6 & 11PM co-anchor also soon to be 4PM. Fred isn't my favorite but he's okay and he'll do well as the chief meteorologist. Along with Ken Bell it made for a very classy newscast. Demoting Melissa was one of there best decisions she was horrible, though I am disappointed she will still be on at 4PM. Adding the fantastic Paul Mueller as the 4PM co-anchor and sunday evening anchor was a great move he's comimg back to 6 he worked for them as a reporter from Aug. 01-03. Before jumping to last full-time New England job at WLVI before their show was canceled. I am happy that they are adding the 4PM the first ever in R.I. I don't know what to think of the three anchor newscast though. I am happy that Steve Cassione is returning to 6 where he was their chief meteorologist (he'll be competing with his 2 time former colleague Pamela Watts) and it is good that he landed back on his feet at 6 after 12 demoted him. Tom and Doreen makes me shudder I couldn't watch them together. for weekends it is great Paul will be doing Sunday nights. But they need at least one Saturday anchor.

Here's what I do to make it even better:

6 & 11PM John & Alison
4PM Paul and Elizabeth Hopkins from 12 she is fanastic or Josie Guarino if not.
Mornings: I would like to see Mark and Pam from 12 but probably not, if not promote some of your reporters or I hear some other WLVI reporters/anchors looking for work.
Weekend Evenings: Do two anchors It can work.
Weekend Mornings: Add a newscast for 6

So as of Jan 11 here's the lineup (some changes have already been made)

6 & 11PM John, Alison, Fred, Ken
4: Alison, Paul, Melissa, and Fred
Mornings & Noon Doreen, Tom, and Steve
Sunday Nights: Paul, Jim and Don
Saturday Nights: TBA, Jim and Don

I'm also happy they upgraded their website but they need to add a lot of Bio's and have better sound on their videos. I also hope they make their new music Impact V4.

Sorry for the post. My first time at it. I had to say it.

I'm sorry that WLNE isn't bringing back Steve Cascione as Chief Meteorologist. I've always thought that Steve is a SOLID weather forecaster and has forecasted snowstorms that nobody else forecasted. He really deserves a Chief Spot.

How about adding free-agent Alycia Lane to WLNE? She can be on at 4, followed by her good buddy Dr. Phil at 5!
