WLNE-DT AND WJAR-DT

After calling both WLNE-TV 6 and WJAR-TV 10, I found out that the HDTV signals for both stations was off since Sunday due to the powerful Northeaster storm in New England. The representatives from both stations (which share the same transmitter tower in Rehoboth, MA) said the signals will hopefully be back on by the weekend. Interestingly, WSBE-TV 36 shares the same tower for its digital signal and it's still on the air.

I know that 6 used to transmit their analog channel from a tower in Tiverton. Is that still in use or have they moved that to Rehoboth also?

There have been several attempts over many years to relocate 6's analog transmitter to Rehoboth. At least one deal was negotiated but every attempt has been shot down by The FCC due to short spacing. I don't believe any owner has even tried in the last five or more years.

No, the analog service still transmits from Tiverton, RI. They can't get any closer to Providence than that due to WCSH-TV (NBC) channel 6 of Portland, ME.

The only difference is WJAR-DT and WLNE-DT also share the transmitting antenna, where WSBE-DT has a seperate antenna slightly lower on the side of the tower. You'd also notice that WJAR analog as well as WSNE(FM) are at the site as well. Just up the road is where WNAC-TV/DT & WWBB are located.
