WLNE for sale?

There's some talk that WLNE 6 is for sale. Anyone else heard this? I'm betting that it would make a nice little addition to Hearst-Argyle's collection.
Thoughts?

This topic has been discussed in another thread on the New England TV board.

I still haven't seen any published information that WLNE is up for sale. Until I see a report in one of the trades about an alleged sale, I won't and don't believe it. We have been talking about a possible sale of WLNE for almost five years now, that I know of. Companies rumored to purchase WLNE have been Hearst...then Belo...then Gannett. Who's next on the list of potential buyers? Nexstar/Mission? Granite? Sinclair? Sunbeam?

WLNE is indeed for sale - the Providence Journal at www.projo.com today has an article about the sale on its main site. It even quotes the GM of the station as confirming the story.

Thank the Lord! Please allow a company with some REAL MONEY to buy that place. I would love to see ABC scoop it up, but that's just a dream. Any company who can make their newscast into something competitive would be fine with me.

Sorry, I was not aware that this was discussed here. In any case, how about this...
ABC buys them, than trades them for WCVB with Hearst-Argyle.

But I do think that Hearst-Argyle is the best case scenerio.
Worst case is for someone like Sincliar, Raycom or even Nextar buying them. Let's hope its' the former and not the latter...
