I like what I'm hearing so far. Lots of cross promotion would probably take place too. Many ads in the newspaper explaining how once and for all ABC6 is in Providence and not in Massachusetts too. This may finally be what turns the station around and gets people to watch.

Yes, it is and will still be licensed to New Bedford as such. But the "New Bedford" ID is only seen once an hour with a dual city ID (New Bedford, Providence) and has been that way since the late 60's when both the New Bedford and Providence ADI's were formed as one. But notice on WJAR the ID is for "Providence/New Bedford". I'm not sure WPRI follows the same way. Nonetheless, WLNE (and before that, WTEV) has always WANTED to be a "Providence" station. Now, for all intents and purposes, it is thanks in part to the DTV changes of last year. I think you'll find very little New Bedford area news on WLNE today.DToTheJ said:WLNE is still licensed to New Bedford, no?
