WLNG 92.1 from Long Island

I'm here just north of Boston in Stoneham, and I'm picking up WLNG, 92.1, out of Long Island, NY, as if it were a local. In all my years of DXing, I've never picked up this station before. Just wondering if anyone else in the area is receiving this station. Personally, I think it's great sounding Oldies radio, going far and above the call of duty. Wish we had something like this here in Boston.

WLNG is a very common catch for me, especially now with WOMR off the air for the last few months. The DX was very good last night, I received stations as far as Raleigh, NC (94.7 WQDR), here on the south shore.

The tropo opening was reciprocal. I was listening around midnight here in central Connecticut and eastern Mass. stations were pounding in, including WGBH, WXRV, WKLB and WODS.

Last night I had it in Eastern CT to MA, this morning I had the Manhattan FM's in Manchester, and by the time I got west of the river, I caught Radio 104.5 Philly over WXLO. Love me some summer tropo!

WLNG/92.1 is about the most fun station to listen to anywhere. Great jingles, great music and some really down-to-earth jocks. They sound great now in Stereo. I always look forward to picking them up on trops. The late Paul Sidney, who put WLNG on the air back in the 60's, really made a great station. It's good to hear them on-line. But hearing them on-the-air on trops is even better. Love those to thousands of vintage jingles and the local ads. Now if only someone could do something similar here in the Boston area! OH, well.........

Correction: WBOS 92.9 was pounding in here, not WXRV 92.5. I live too close to West Peak (Meriden Mountain) for anything but WWYZ to come in on 92.5.

I used to pick up LNG when I was in Rhode Island but not in Mass. This is a first.

When I was going to the Jersey Shore three year ago for vacation (No not to hang with the Situation), I heard Cool 102 in Beach Haven and I heard 95.1 and Joe Castiglione doing an ad for Shaws/Star Market and I somehow thought for a second that Red Sox Nation has spread to Philly/South Jersey.

Heard WPLJ 95.5 in NYC bleeding into WBRU this morning on the way to work. Same with 101.9 Cool 102 being overtaken by WEMP.
