Okay, what does this article mean? I was under the impression WLNY would be going digital-only on channel 57, but this article implies that they are doing what WPXJ Batavia/Buffalo did, staying analog until the shutoff.

But staying analog would leave them on 55.

A better question would be does anyone still watch WLNY? The only thing I find it good for (in my opinion) is if I am going to miss Jeporardy and WOF on ABC, I can watch it on 55.
______________

I like watching Jeopardy at 6 sometimes, plus they have Colombo on every now and then. The should add some more classic TV and I think it would be more watchable.
______________

I hope they realize they can lose DirecTV and Dish Network satellite mustcarry by going digital only.

Dish Network dropped WMCN-DT 44 in Phila.; the FCC sided with the satellite provider, as it "was premature given the absence of rules relating to the satellite carriage of digital television signals"

http://hraunfoss.fcc.gov/edocs_public/attachmatch/DA-04-632A1.txt

Though, the satellite companies will realize WLNY's programming has some value, and keep it.

The same Dish Network that is so concerned on the savings of not having to reserve bandwidth for WMCN, is still carrying 2 NJN feeds, where DirecTV is relaying WNJS into NYC DMA.
