WLOP/WIFO Jesup

Do you have any details on the cause of the fire? Is Bob Morgan still employed there? Bob was a great help to me back in the 80's.

I wish them the best of luck...disasters like this can kill small-market stations.

Did it just destroy the studios, or did it destroy the transmitters as well?

If it's just the studios, do they need help with temporary equipment?

Sure hope they recover from this. I'll always have a fond memory of WIFO. Back in the late 70's I had just hooked up a Kenwood KR-9600 receiver which had a very sensitive tuner and was able to pick up WIFO some 150 miles away in Barnwell, SC. It just so happened they were having a contest that Sat. night to see who was listening from the furthest distance and they were quite surprised when I called. The prize was the number one album for the week which was Donna Summer's Live and More. They sent that and several 45's as a bonus. Best wishes to them for a quick recovery!

Obviously, that's good news. At least one of those stations is back on the air, perhaps a good first step.

its all good that they have rebuilt and im glad for them

totally respect the ability to dust them selves off but

uhm, didnt show the studios where the magic really happens! just sales offices... could have given us a view of the new boards and mics and stuff :p

what automation do they use? :p
