I was checking out the FCC site (fcc.gov) and see WLOQ has an Ownership sale posted for June 14, 2005. Who are the buyers? Below is a copy from the fcc site and the url. Does this mean a change this month since the 90 days are almost done...anybody heard anything?

Not that I listen to them, but correct me if I'm wrong. WLOQ is the last commercial FM station in Orlando that is owned by a Mom & Pop company. It would be too bad if one of the monopolys bought them.

Hmm. Well, it appears they've moved another guy to mornings to have a two-man team of "Mark and Mick" and as of 9/6 today they're seeking a female for a third person in the morning team. And the footer sections of the website still indicate the Gross Communications name.

It makes me wonder? Did Rollins College push them out the door towards their Maitland move, or did they make that move themselves looking forward to a possible ownership change like this to take over the new facilities? Their old studios in Winter Park appear to be nothing more than a Rollins-only campus parking lot now; not sure who's in the old building.

I think this is an internal reorganization, perhaps for estate planning puerposes. It does not look like a sale to an outside party.

Marc Taylor and Mick Dolan have been the morning show there since at least the Spring book of 2004 if not earlier. They moved to Maitland June 2004.

WLOQ began shopping around in late 2002/early 2003 for a new place because their lease was up in 2004.

My understanding...the primary owner declined over 30 million dollars from one of the corporate behemoths over one year ago.

I think they might be restructuring to sell to one of the behemoths...thats my two cents.

The stories on the building are true. Lease was up, Rollins wanted the building, rent had gone up, WLOQ said "SEE YA".
Just don't believe the rumours that Rollins is going to teach classes on how to own a radio station, and screw your siblings out of it (by hiring and using a PC Solitare Champion) while being obsessive compulsive.

This intrigues me. Who are we talking about?
