WLQC's audio is so low

I agree. It is very undermodulated...and it is almost as if there is no processing! It's been that way since they went back on air after Irene!

The audio chain is not right, i hope someone has notifed their offices in Rocky Mount, it doesn't sound good right now.

Their offices are actually in Sanford. I am not sure there is even anyone working in Rocky Mount. The last time I talked to someone there, they just sent a salesperson to Rocky Mount every now and then. In Rocky Mount, there is nothing but an automation system and a transmitter. At that time, all the on-air people were doing their live breaks on WLHC in Sanford, and voicetracking Rocky Mount...then sending the VT's to the computer in Rocky Mount. So, I have wondered if anyone in Sanford has even heard the Rocky Mount signal since Irene passed through. It's sad that 103.1 in Rocky Mount is apparently still being run completely by 'remote control', so much so that something such as such poor audio has evidentally not even been noticed.

I contacted the owner. They had trouble with their Optimod, but it's back up and running. I believe the processing is better now, than it was before.

WLQC-FM "Life 103.1" is taking baby steps to get ramped up. They are not run completely by "remote control". They have hired some folks who actually are living, breathing beings who work at the Rocky Mount studio Mon-Fri. Audio sounds very clean now and a lot better than most FM's in the Twin Counties.. :)

A local owner (not some out of town carpetbagger chain) is running both Rocky Mount and Sanford and is very pragmatic at growing the station.

I met the owner. He is a great guy and I believe he will do well in Rocky Mount. Is it mainly a sales staff in Rocky Mount at this point, or are they going live from there some now?

Hearing what sounds like a much more localized morning show this week, so possibly they have hired a morning personality?
