WLQH / WZCC

Great coup, John! Did you buy WLQH or is it operated under an LMA or LMA/Purchase option? Next time I am in the area, I'll be sure to tune in both stations. Congratulations with your most recent addition.

Congrats John!! Did you snag WLQH from Dix AKA Ocala Broadcasting?

Now all ya gotta do is grab the 97.7 CP, make it a Class A and throw it on the ZCC tower! ;)

If only it were that easy....

Buying with LMA till closing. Already picked up a couple of Chiefland sponsors and a remote for Santa at the shopping center on Saturday. To paraphrase Dave Wagenvoord "your ad will be on TWO area radio stations!" If it worked for Wagi it should work for me :) Actually I recall reading on some thread several weeks ago about someone who had the same idea but on FM and I said to myself "yes, some validation for my idea". I will have to look back and see who that was.

Yes, Dix/Ocala is the seller. And as you say, if it only were that easy. I would like to put a translator up on WLQH's taller stick because of their power drop at sunset if I could find one. That would get me the most bang for what small bucks I have left!

Congratulations, John! I've never met you, but I applaud what you're doing in bringing local community radio back to this area. I spent some time at WTRS/WOCA/WMFQ/WOGK back in the early-mid 1990s, so I'm familiar with the radio landscape there.

Good luck to you!

It's been a week since the WZCC / WLQH simulcast began, and I'm wondering what kind of response you are getting from the community so far, John?

As I mentioned earlier we picked up a few new sponsors already and a couple of businesses from Chiefland that had advertised on WZCC earlier signed back on when they heard of the increased coverage of the area. And we will be doing a remote Saturday with Santa at the Shopping Center. Tonight we have almost all of the avails in the Gators/Kent State basketball game filled.

Unfortunately the Chiefland Chamber of Commerce takes December off so I wont be able to really get to them until late January. People are already asking if we will be doing HS football!!! Still need to make the rounds of the civic leaders. This is a bad time to get ahold of many of them.

I am encouraged by the response so far.
