WLRN Comes to the Rescue

Snort: “We provided it before Classical South Florida arrived in 2007 and we are happy to provide the service again.”

I was saddened when CSF hit the airwaves because WLRN-HD2 covered my entire area with a perfect digital, dropout-free signal, while CSF was analog and spittered, spattered, and sputtered from a transmitter just this side of Homestead. Now, I just need to get another HD radio for my car.

Yes, thanks WLRN. But an HD signal is still a big problem for most listeners. Do they have an FM translator that re-broadcasts the HD signal? And is there anything to report on the classical front in West Palm Beach?

You said it, "...a big problem for most listeners". The station has done everything it can and should do. The programming is there and sounds great. If the people want it, it is there for very low cost for the equipment. A car deck with HD radio can be had for under $100. I refuse to hear that we do not have a classical radio station in Miami.

Classical music has become almost a national digital radio service. In the Florida peninsula, it can be found in Miami and the Keys, Orlando, Jacksonville, Gainesville/Inverness, Tampa/St.Pete, Fort Myers, Sarasota (analogue), Fort Pierce (analogue/digital mix).
