Opening at WLRS/Louisville
Are you the next Morning Show Rock talent in the Ville’? Can you win in Males 18-49?? The New 105.1 WLRS Everything That Rocks, Louisville’s Rock Station, is on the hunt for the next big WLRS DJ. Must be a self-starter and have insane creativity. No egos allowed!!! Male or female; we want the best. Must be able to “Live the Lifestyle of Rock DJ. Send your packages, resume included, NOW!!!

Title: Announcer
Job description:
• Plan and execute daily show.
• Work close with Program Director and consultant to develop highly rated show.
• Commercial production using Vegas Video, Cool Edit, Pro-Tools & Scott Studios
• Host station remotes and events
• Attend various charity events
• Attend sales calls when needed
• Create and maintain content of station website (HTML is a plus)
• Work closely with sales to create revenue generating, ratings driven promos

Position requires, at minimum, a bachelor’s degree in broadcast communications or a minimum of four years experience hosting a live on-air shift. Competitive salary and benefits.

I will tell you right now, no one who really wants to win, and do their own show should apply for this!! Working for fat boy Stamm, is sheer hell. That thing, wants everything for himself, God forbid you get any notoriety at all. You will get NO remotes, because tubby wants them all for himself, and if you do get one, it may be a cell phone store, while Beluga boy hogs all the fun bar remotes. He will stab you in the back, he will try to control you, and actually give you tips on how to improve your on air sound, when he my be the worst jock ever to crack a mike in that city. It is brutal listening to him. Although this will be fun, walking down the hallway and seeing him fast asleep in his office. Classic!!! Trust me, you will thank me later. Maybe you will get the chance to see him throw CD's in the garbage right in front of the record rep trying to get him to add it. Great people skills on that one, getting drunk driving the station Hummer. Taking this job will be the biggest mistake of your career. I would not steer you wrong, I swear.
 
I am telling you the large man of lard belongs along with diesel running the hometown buffett over there off blankenbaker by the cw.

This is just more proof that mainline does not give a crap about wlrs for if they did they would have fired joe and skinny j and diesel and rebranded the station killed the call letters. Mr lindsey should be ashamed of himself for letting joe stay on do you peeps realize how painful it is to listen to joe? Does joe realize how bad he is at his profession?

I really hate dissing someone i never met but my god he is just plain pathetic at his chosen profession. How did annrae put up with him for so long?She should have fired him. I speak to her on myspace once in a while and told her about the changes at wlrs and she said as long as skinny j and joe are at that station it does not have a snowballs chance in hell at succeeding.

Thanks for the vote of confidence but i will pass first off i personally do not like the format second off i could not bear working for someone like joe who is just plain awful at what he does. Also mainline should be embarrased for what they have on the 105.1 frequency. Not the music but the non talent that works there is pathetic!!! Besides this summer hot p is headed to los angeles.

Big Joe is the most underhanded, two faced, backstabber I have ever had the misfortune of crossing paths with. I was in the sales department, trying to sell the unsellable WLRS, and witnessed some of the most ego driven, nasty, unprofessional behavior from Mr Stamm ever seen. He's not even the program director! He's the APD. The company wouldn't make it official because he is so bad. The reason he's there still is because he's cheap. A few bucks and some free food and he's good to go! Run, don't walk, from this job opening!
 
how does such a creep keep his job? even doing things on the cheap isn't reason enough to keep anybody who's supposedly this unprofessional
 
Hey big 10 inch since you worked at wlrs why is it so unsellable? Is it the signal or is it the horrific talent? Why is it so hard if not imposssible to sell? Seems like it did better numbers in mcgregors days there?
 
I worked for Radio One selling DJX & LRS. It was unsellable because it wasn't a priority and the GSM didn't really bother to put a real value on lrs. We usually gave it away with DJX. It was never really supposed to be successful, just a utility station that boosted the value of it's sister stations. There were never any real expectations. The format is/was stale and Big Joe and Skinny J didn't have the numbers to interest any clients. [EDIT-personal attack]

What do you mean buy he's gonna buy the farm? I guess thats why mainline never flipped the call letters they don't care about wlrs and i bet if they got a nice offer they would not hesitate to sell it.
 
They keep Dumbo around, I would assume, because he is not under contract, not making any money, and doing all the work. The man is a moron, he has not had a contract for 2 years now, and not been given PD stripes. Honestly, who else would do that. He knows he is a no talent, who could not get another job if his life depended on it. He has burned all bridges with his references. From what I hear though it won't be long before he goes Bye Bye. Hot Patrick,, Your just moving to L.A so you can hear your favorite station, Indie 103.1... ;) Anyway, how you been Patrick, long time, no talk... :)

By the way, I wouldnt take this job either... Boy they dont want much do they? Do you see all the requirements of what you have to maintain, plus you gotta have a degree and or 4 yrs experience. Im sorry Mainline, but anyone with that Experience isnt gonna work at LRS.... LRS stands for Looser Rock Sucks...., especially with this Active-Classic hybrid they are trying to pull off.

Good luck in L.A Patrick, I dont blame you for leaving... The Ville Sucks, and Indianapolis is just as bad. Besides that, all the girls in KY and Ind are stuck up Beotches, or white trash..... Take me with you to L.A... ;D
 
what's up with all the personal insults? Lots of hateful comments. It's just a radio station. Disgruntled ex-employees and wannabe rock jocks should put together an internet radio station and concentrate on that. Does Hot Patrick have a hot demo? Lets hear it! Then trash that mofo.
 
If Mainline wants some male numbers in the am on 105-1, they should take a look at Free Beer & Hot Wings
at WGRD-fm in Grand Rapids, don't hire a night talent that likes to talk alot....

These guys have great chemistry.
 
I think if WLRS goes syndication in the morning they should consider either opie and anthony or adam carolla or like someone said free beer and hotwings. But unless they make major changes with the talent they ain't gonna get numbers period!!!
 
there's virtually any shot at much ROI bringing in those big $ morning shows. WAY OVERKILL for even the best potential of WLRS especially with their power cut down to 1.9kw.

Thank goodness so level headed posts on these boards - I couldn't agree more Creighton. Why all the venom? I guess some of these people (annrae and moe) were fired by WLRS, but jeez get over it. As for HOT P - and Indydood or anyone else...post some proof that you have or have ever had a real radio show and then you can talk - btw college station and anything with a www. in front of it DOES NOT QUALIFY! Grow up kids and let's talk radio!
