WLRS

I remember that, They even simulcasted with WMCC (now WCLU-FM) Munfordville Ky in order to have coverage over Bowling Green. Both stations were on 102.3, The signal got a little weird around E-Town though. As for why they switched formats, I have no idea, But I liked the alternative format. I remember they looped the "walrus" for about a month if I remember right.
 
I believe low ratings were the cause for the flip. But what is ironic is the max is pretty much the same format mix was when it flipped to lrs 102.

I remember also in july of 1999 lrs flipped to love 102.3 there was a protest at the station and one of the signs said"celine dione is the anti christ"

Man there was a lot of people at that protest i think a whole 12 people showed up to protest the demise of lrs lol

But that was pretwitter and prefacebook. Wonder if you would have had many more today???

Its a shame how radio one ruined wlrs on 105.1!!!
