WLS 360 North Michigan Ave

I went to visit a radio friend in Minneapolis and we took a side trip through St. Cloud, MN, where I saw the studios of KCLD in a mall, in a glass "bubble". This would have been 1989. No idea if they're still there.

Sorry I thought the thread was going to stations with windows in other cities with gr8oldies post about a station in Minnesota. WCOL AM was in Columbus Ohio.

BTW when I listened to WCFL they were in Marina City. Never was there so I don't know what kind of set up they had.
 
Like WLS, WCFL had visiting hours on Saturday. The WCFL studio on the 16th floor of the Marina City commercial building had view ability for visitors that had narrow elongated windows as shown in the photo below. There’s a curtain that could be drawn as well for privacy. The WLS set up for visitors was much better as there were two large plate glass windows to look through.IMG_0455.jpeg

The WLS studio that visitors could view on the 5th floor of the Stone Container building had larger windows for viewing as shown below. Clark Weber would frequently come out and sign autographs after his show was over.IMG_0456.jpeg
 
I doubt "Spook" as a name would get by the PC police now. When I was in the USAF we called anybody who worked for a 3 letter agency "spook".

I worked at WXIL from 1981-1982 after Burbach Broadcasting bought it in 1980. Moved studios and sales offices to the Trader's Federal building. The only view we had there was the rear parking lot lol.
