I knew that wls shut down the iboc at night and was in am stereo, but now for the last few days i've noticed that they were in stereo. Anyone know what's up?
They seem to have come to their right senses. Enough is enough, already.
It would be bad enough if only it were the noise iboc adds to an AM signal, but it must be very frustrating to
put HD on and find that because the antenna is 25 miles out that it won't decode almost anywhere in the city of license.
It Bothers Other Channels. Flawed at best and terrible for AM.
Glad to see The Big 89 did that. Now, if they would just bring back their Rewind Memorial bay...
If only wbbm would also see the light and do the same, then maybe I could hear wabc without the buzz in west central indiana (4 hours south of Chicago!). Use to be that the fcc would fine station for causing interference!
Listening late night from western Ohio last Monday night, about 200 miles ESE of Chicago, the hash from 670, 780 and 1000 was downright vicious. I'm glad I don't listen to any of their adjacent channels.
WLS sounds great in stereo! You just need to find a tuner. I am using the Radio Shack TM-152 (an oldie but goodie). Also have a factory Delco AM stereo radio from around 1990 that works very well.
Now we just need them to run the Rewind on Memorial Day again-- THIS time, in stereo.
Please, WLS? Play it again!
