Noticed WLS FM is giving away ( 3 ) $500 cash prizes on weekdays..nameing the artist of the day..
This just started recently. I like the idea of 3 cash prizes a day.. Usually it was 1000.00 Thursdays where I used to work. Then in '90 a station I worked for gave away $5000. cash to one person. I think they just had to call in when a certain song played .. My friend was the receptionist.. she said the lady that won was rich and lived in a well to do neighborhood. She wasn't very talkative or happy about winning. She wanted to get out of our station in a hurry.
I guess our neighborhood wasn't one she came to often and the outside building was built around a Quonsethut. The attached double wide mobile home for the sales staff wasn't impressive either I'm sure.
Do you guys think cash is king to give away during ratings to get the numbers you want..?? Is one large cash prize better to give to one person or is spreading the wealth better with smaller cash prizes to more listeners?
