WLS-FM SOON!

Hey?? Are we not an older society than in the heyday???? It 'could' work with an 'era based gold' thing... I doubt it would garner those numbers when there were a hand full of stations that divided up 85% of the quarter hour pie.... I will watch this post with interest....

That would be great and if they could dig up Art Roberts and put him on the air.... :)

If you were trying to be funny with your "dig up" comment, you failed. I had the pleasure of meeting Art Roberts. He was a kind and fascinating man. I think you went a bit too far.

Agree with Steve Scott's comment about Art Roberts. Poor taste at minimum.

I too had the pleasure of meeting Art. A gentleman and a passionate professional who contributed greatly the Chicago/Midwest broadcast scene for many years.

Art Roberts was nothing short of a saint... His off air personality was 100% in sync with his on-air persona... He is greatly missed by his fans and friends...

I remember listeninmg to Art when he did middays on CFL back in the early-mid 70s right up to when they went easy-listening. He would always end every show with "this has been a work of Art". I remember Lujack coming on after him one afternoon and replying with something like paint by number art or something like that...was funny at the time.

I would pay for this stream as well.... They would definently need "Lyle Dean" to do the news.... Steve Scott is great as well......

Alright, so I am also a listener that grew up with John Landecker on WLS...I listen to him on 94.7 as often as I can, this post is not being critical in any way towards Landecker who I truly believe to be a talented air personality. But I would like to ask and get some comments to this question..

For those of us that do remember him, is he as good as all that or do we just like him because of the fond memories we have of "back in the day" ??

My answer to that is, I still like the way he delivers on-air to this day !!

Just looking for your opinions....

Thanks !

Larry LuJack, Fred Winston, Jeff Davis, amd more to be announced soon. Word is Tommy Edwards and Landecker could come aboard as early as oct of next year.

It's a done deal. WLS-FM with the same great jingles, contest and personalities.

Count on it!

And guess who the PD is going to be?

That's right kids....(Drum Roll).....The one and only John Gehron!!!!!!!!!!!!
Where did you hear this? I'd like to see that happen. Lujack and Winston are great.

He didin't. He thought if he made it up, then it would somehow spur interest or create a successful topic thread. WLS-FM is not comming back.

And if it did come back, it wouldn't play any music. WLS is a TALK station, and has been for a long time.

i dont think thats waht they mean. nothing about the current wls. they are talking about bringing music back on wls fm. just because both stations would have the same calls that doesnt mean they would have the same format.

See what happens when I don't check this site? Big rumors abound.
Is there any truth to this or just some wishful thinking??
