WLS FM

Does WLS FM play the most commercials in Chicago? it is unlistenable.

No more than our stations in Charlotte. I was in Chicago this past weekend for a wedding and found WLS-FM to be a very good sounding station. Biondi was doing a remote that was lively. The music kept everyone in the car entertained and no one complained. They were listening and singing along. Ages in the car were mid 20's and mid 50's.

I didn't get a chance to do a lot of listening but I liked what I heard.

I've noticed when I listen online, not only do they play spots during the commerical breaks, but they play them right in the middle of songs as well.
Is that what you're talking about?

My guess is they need to correct the computer that's getting a wrong signal and firing off all those PSAs.

WLS-FM is a great sounding station that also has a pretty heavy spot load at times. Not to mention that they have local spots during prime-time hours and national spots off the bird during off-hours with Shannon's True Oldies Channel.

I suppose that's a good thing for those of us who like the station - let's just hope that Citadel doesn't smother the golden goose!
