WLS mornings.

A lot has been made of the fact that Don and Roma's contract will be up this year. And, people are speculating that Don Imus will replace them, as a Citadel cost cutting move. However, there is someone else's name I want to throw in the ring, should Don and Roma not be allowed to continue. And, this person would still be keeping Citadel's costs down, as this person is already on a Citadel station. I'm thinking of Kevin Matthews. He is definitely a better fit than Imus, as Kev understands Chicago, and he has a loyal fan base in Chicago. He has also filled in on WLS a few times. Any thoughts?

Hey Buddy, it's not going to happen. Why pay Kevin instead if syndicating Imus?

The I-Man is a known commodity to the national buyers in NYC and every market Farid Suleman adds makes him more money, even without ratings.
Imus will be on either WLS or WZZN by fall book. Citadel is bleeding green. Farid doesn't care about ratings, he cares about covering the loan payments next month and keeping his job like the rest of us.

You don't fire your newsroom and political reporter in an election year on a news and talk station to bring in Kevin Mathews!

The I MAN will not get any ratings, and add buyers are afraid of him....chicago is not into syndication unless it at least originates from Chicago, (ok except mike and mike but that is the power of tv and the 4 letters) bring MANCOW back it makes perect sense. No?

Mancow on WLS? Interesting. The current show is way out of demo and headed for The Villages in Florida. But it would make too much sense Mancow + mornings on WLS. Is WLS interested in ratings anymore?

Mancow sounds like he is trying to make his show more of a regular talk show for conservative stations anyways. Being on WLS would be a good excuse to make the complete transition.

I don't see Mancow being a fit for WLS at all. The WLS audience is generally older and either is unfamiliar with Mancow, or only know of him when he was a crass Howard Stern imitator on 103.5 and then Q101 and wouldn't give him a chance.

Mancow supposedly has really gone mainstream talk because he has to stay away from FCC troubles. But it's really because those are the only successful, by today's radio standards, talk shows he can imitate.

Sorry, but ever since the morning a few years ago when Howard Stern played a bit he (Howard) had aired years earlier, followed by a tape of Mancow doing the same bit word-for-word months later, and then Howard had a former Mancow producer on the phone talking about how Mancow would listen to tapes of Howard, it doesn't exactly enhance Mancow's credibility. Now that Howard and most of the "shock jock" stuff is gone, Mancow has no choice but to copy the other talk shows that are still around.

WLS can go for the real thing, even if it is "only" Imus, if they don't re-sign the Wades.

Mancow has a mostly new cast of crazies....They are wonderful. Can't wait for WLS to move him on the mornings.....check it out on line mancow.com

Muller and his ZOO won't be turning up on WJOB or WAUR, let alone WLS.

I like Don Wade and Roma. I can not imagine Don Imus. I find that man's monotone to be incredibly boring. Also living in Chicago and hearing him carry on about East Coast stuff would not play well in this city.

Roe had Mancow on as a guest not long ago. It was almost unlistenable. I can't imagine him fitting in but stranger things have happened.

I still like the idea of Kevin Matthews. I have listened to his show in Grand Rapids some and and with all of his fill in work he may be the guy to replace Don and Roma. But I may be reading more into it.
