WLS Rewind

It's a shame WLS can't provide the Rewind for only one day a year! Shows us how short-sighted the "management" baboons are...c'mon who is gonna listen to "the best of" replays of Don & Roma, Rush, Hannity, Levin, etc. on a Holiday? WLS might actually gain some listeners by playing music a few times a year by attracting a little attention. Don't know 'bout the rest of you, but on a Holiday, I'm usually in a Music Mood, not a heavy issues mood. Sorry. Tough.

The rewind was great, but unfortunately it was Kipper McGee's idea and he's not there anymore.
Consequently we the listeners lose out.

Right but at least WABC has something whereas WLS has nothing planned.

The same goes for WABC, Phil Boyce is no longer there so their rewind has moved to a stream.

Maybe they're going to get Rod Blagojevich to fill in - he's not very busy these days... :D
 
I'm here scratchin' my head on this one. Why in the hell don't they just do the WLS Rewind on WLS-FM? Are these guys so clueless not to realize that a big part--no, a huge part--of the unprecedented success of the weak-ass True Oldies format in Chicago (it's a loser everywhere else) is due to the heritage/recognition in the core demo generated by the 20 years of domination by The Big 89???

The Rewind should be on 94.7.

Of course, if they had any brains at all, they'd bring back the star jocks of the Big 89 on a daily basis...

My guess is they're all scared to death for their jobs with what's going on at citadel so nobody is willing to step up and make a decision.
 
It would be nice if WLS could post the old Rewinds to their website so we may listen to them...but that will NEVER happen since they want us to listen to the 890 signal live, so we are subjected to their pablum on Memorial Day...I told all of you before, on holidays I listen to music, not heavy discussions. Even though our country is going downhill, I need at least a day off from the depressing talk.

They simply don't care over at WLS. Too bad, they'd get more ratings with the Rewind than talk on a holiday.

I was just listening to some of the 2007 Rewind I have on a tape, Tommy and Larry's address to the nation and random acts of kindness for Les Grobstein. :D

I was thinking of posting the audio from those 2 bits on the youtube.
