WLS - The Big 89 ( Rumors )

Yeah in like 85-86 or so my bro had a c-quam and it came in clear in Indianapolis 180 miles away,,, now days its harder to get wls here than at my girlfriends house in virginia... chalk it up to skywave, and too much local noise in the dial.

WLS is going dark

Who are these people?

Go on vacation and it gets strange. Look for a “deal” with better terms for Citadel. If Chapter 11 is used, the lenders have to get a deal with Citadel and the Judge. Usually the creditors end up with stock in the new company. There could be a problem in some of Citadel’s markets because some of the creditors could have stations and clusters from other bankrupt operations. There could be a temporary FCC wavier issued to allow time to sell some properties. Another factor could be the lenders balance sheets. If the lenders need cash now then a Chapter 7 could happen. The clusters or stations will be auctioned. The Court could let some stations could be “dark” for a couple of months until the auction and new owners get their FCC paper work. Most likely, the Court will keep them going to sell as an “on going” business but it depends on which way the Judge thinks the most money will be raised. The last time I looked, at a FCC AM assignment chart 890 was assigned to Chicago. If the unlikely happens (this is radio and weird things have happened) look for every non 50KW AM within 200 miles to file for 890. May the best Lawyers and Engineers win?
