WLS-TV Planning New Live Daily Program, Possibly To Replace Outgoing "Oprah"

And do you know how I know this? There's a job posting on their website for a "booker":

Part of the job posting reads: "This is not a newscast, but a new LIVE, one hour morning "must" for Chicagoans, across the three screens (TV, Internet, Smart-Phones) utilizing Skype & other digital messaging tools and delivery systems, including social networking. A studio-based show with a LIVE audience."

Now where else other than Oprah's time slot could this kind of show air?

Also, would the show be a regular talk show, like "Oprah", or a pay-to-play show, like "Daytime"?

Your guess is as good as mine... Though, it would not be out of the realm of possibility to picture a "7live" program on all of the ABC O&O's on Channel 7 (okay... the ones that are branded "ABC7"). Think about it: Oprah's on her way out at WLS/Chicago; Regis will be gone later this year at the show based at WABC/New York - and who knows a) who the replacement will be and/or how he'll fare and b) if there will even be one at all; and I have no idea what KABC in L.A. is doing... but this seems like a good cross-country branding opportunity for the Disney O&O's... if indeed that's what it turns out to be...

Its got to be 7live because WLS-TV is trying to describe a show that resembles the KGO editon of 7live but with Chicago host to it. When I read the WLS link they were just rehashing what KGO is doing right now. However KTRK and WPVI might have their own variations like 13live or 6live. Or even resurrect the AM "Name Your City Here again" but the AM "Name your City Here" is a dead idea.

Since KTRK doesn't air Oprah (does air Reege...), I don't see anything new here. Good Morning Houston/The Debra Duncan Show held on for a while, but that was early in the 2000s...

Debra Duncan is still on KHOU 11 (CBS) but Houston's ABC O/O is on 13 so 7LIVE probably wouldn't work here. Neat idea though...live show across three kinds of media on all the O/O's???? Hmmmmm.

I heard of Roe Conn going to WLS tv to do 7live the Chicago edition.
