the 60s on 6 is recreating the sound of wls am 89 this friday afternoon on xm's 60s on 6. complete with autual airchecks and jingles from the station from the era. i cant wait. i miss wls am 89 the rock of chicago. why dont they turn 94.7 into wls fm and put it on the net?

:D
Would someone make an aircheck of that channel and put it in the "airchecks" section of the Radio-Info Board?

Thanks -- I'd love to hear it.

Although I do NOT have XM satilite radio,
While in my sleep I had a dream the other night about WLS 89 had lauched a new website about advertising a new format, about bringing back the golden years of long ago, of when radio was! Stuff such as the Saturday Night Barn Dance, and the oldtime rock n roll shows of long ago!

I woke up as my heat was beating so fast, that I thought that WLS did make that change, but I turn on my radio and there was Don Wade And Roma! The Ma & Pa of Chicago Morning NewsTalk Radio....

Did The Prarie Farmer Magazine own the station and did they share 890Khz with WENR in your dream?

I don't remember or recall in my dream tha Prarie Farmer Magazine own WLS,
I just remember there was a new website stating that they was playing all the old re-runs
of the old rock n roll DJs and the Barn Dance show

And I do Not recall nor even heard of WENR I just remember the old WLS logo on the website while I was deaming about this....

Wow! that's mighty interesting!
I never had imagine that there was a WENR back during the 1920s,
of couse that's way long before my time!
Howevere if I read this right, in 1928 WENR, shared the same frequency
with WLS untill it was sold to ABC radio WLS AM-890 back in 1943...

Thanks for the info JD...
