I listened to a good bit of it, was good to hear the Class Action JAM jingles again, I just wish their on-line streaming was better quality. Wish they had played less classic rock yesterday and more AM hits.
Listening to that has really hit hard with me, on just how bad radio has gotten!
I had hoped for some real oldies to be heard, but very few until last night. I did hear Landecker play some 60s stuff.
One of the stories they told during the "Rewind" was about a North Carolina AM daytimer who copied the WLS format, including the call letters back in the hey day of the Music Radio WLS. The reason was that WLS came in so clear at night that it was ranked #2 in the ratings, so this North Carolina station jumped on it. The WLS jock was on vacation and stopped into the station to find out why they were doing this.
They didn't say what North Carolina town this was.
I wasn't impressed with "Records" Landecker..Seemed to me he was trying to be a little "Too Cute" and I agree, too many classic everyday rock songs..But, however, it did bring back good memories....Lets see how WABC does later in June!
