WLSQ MusicRadio Remembered

Thank you very much for the 'lsq aircheck. As a former radio person transplanted to East Tn from Ohio then Kentucky with nearly 30 years experience, I've said it before and will say it again, this is the best radio I've heard since the days of A.M. Boss top 40 and THE best radio I've ever heard locally, Knoxville radio included and, it came from Crossville...who would've thunk it? This was REAL Radio, not the corporate mega-cluster crap that seems to be all we can get in this day and time. (Our consultants said this is what the public wants so, it must be true........) I'm sure we've all heard that more than once.

Oh, what might have been had Southern Media had just promoted and marketed this format, not to mention given it a real amount of time to really make a dent before killing it.If given the chance, this would have been the type of format that might have brought me out of retirement.

Again thanks for the slice of radio enjoyment, I have it saved in my library. Ok, I'll go back to my Sirius Radio now where I get this type of music all the time.

It makes me sick to think that WLSQ is no more. And yeah....a Crossville station making an impact all the way over here in Knoxville! That will never happen again. Yes, that was real radio right there. The DJ's were fun to listen too. This was the only station I've listened too where I haven't wanted to change the station every time a DJ starts to talk. You know you've got a good radio station (or had one) when people 30 miles away are still talking about it several months after it changed formats. I don't remember ever missing a station more then I did when WLSQ became The Hog. The Hog ain't bad....actually as far as music variety is concerned, it sounds better then WIMZ and they still have the WLSQ dj's and play alot of the same music that was on WLSQ - but the jingles and the way WLSQ was presented really did take me back to the days when radio was fun to listen too. I've read on an earlier post that WLSQ was coming back to a different frequency....has anyone heard anything else on that?
