WLSW Scottdale

45 years ago today Tuesday December 21st 1971, Stan wall signed on his FM radio station at 103.9 ,it was a stand-alone FM something not very common at that time. Stan passed away in June 2015 but the station is still being ran by his wife Sharon. Happy birthday WlSW and many more.

WLSW and WQTW are listed buy CMS brokerage for sale, that's interesting as the FCC website still lists their license as not being renewed.

WJAS is moving their Translator to 99.1 from 103.9. 103.9 has been sold to Broadcast Communication and applied to increase power to 1100 watts ( almost 4 'x current power) and move the Studio's to their Building in North Versailles. Format unknown. It would be nice if they picked up were WZUM 1550 left off.

WDDB 1400 Wheeling now has a translator on 103.9 with 250 watts, the coverage map runs into Washington county. I wonder if WLSW will be Effected.

They are now on the air under new ownership as WKHB-FM.
At lunchtime in the car they were playing the same automated 70's-80's music
that WKHB-AM plays after 7PM (a format I like quite a bit frankly).

Not sure how long this will last. They are gonna have to either sell commercials
or sell blocks of time to medical shows in order to pay the bills.

WKVE 103.1 is also owned by BCI and they are automated with advertising. WANB 1210 / 105.1 is live in the Morning and Satellite the rest of the day. With 103.9 joining them the Sales team could make better deals.

And if they can work the same magic with engineering the signal that they did
with WKVE they'll have quite a good following in the Pittsburgh area.

the former weekend Oldies D j's of WLSW are in talks with WKHB FM, Jeff Allen has signed to do Saturday mornings .
