Wlta 99.7 wwid 106.7

Hey Guys:

Trying to fill in some blanks here. Hope you guys can help.

Would anybody know the date in 1980 WLTA 99.7 went from Beautiful Music to Soft AC? I do know WLTA was beautiful Music in August of 1980 and was AC in December of 1980.

Also does anybody know when in 1983 WWID 106.7 went to an oldies format?

Thanks

T.J.

Of Atlanta's last three BM stations (the others were Peach and WSB-FM), WLTA was the first to flip. They then became Warm 100, then Warm 99.7. Calls went from WLTA to WRMM to WARM. Warm 99.7 lasted until they flipped to Power 99. All this while under Susquehanna's ownership (previous owner was Meredith, IIRC, making them a one-time sister to WGST). Google "Cox v. Susquehanna Broadcasting" for a fun story.

Wide 107 became Lite 106 (AC, calls WWLT) for a short time. They were oldies for a VERY short time, something like 3-6 months, either before or after their Lite 106 days. Then they became country WYAY Y-106.

Hey Guys:

I did some research and I think I round it down for WLTA to Soft AC from Beautiful Music. > August 1980. Most likely the beginning of August.

I searched through all of the billboard magazines from June 1980 to December 1980. Found no stories on WLTA. There was one magazine missing from August. The Arbitron ratings I have was from April/May 1980 lists WLTA as Beautiful Music. And the next story on WLTA was in December of 1980 and says that WLTA was Adult Contempary.
