WLTW Also Promoting Christmas

While it's anybody's guess (as it could point not to a flip to an all-Christmas format, but to some large contest themed around the Holidays) whether WNEW-102.7 will or won't go all-Christmas, WLTW-106.7 is publicizing on their homepage today (October 25th) that they will soon go all-Christmas.

Of course, they don't list a start date because if they did, they could get beaten by someone else (if indeed another New York station is planning to go all-Christmas).

I wouldn't be surprised if the flip occurs as early as next Tuesday (November 1st). If anyone else flips before WLTW, WLTW will flip within minutes. If WLTW flips to all-Christmas, and anyone else plans to follow suit, that other station will likewise do so within minutes.

For the past couple of years we've ragged on you for your early flip to Christmas predictions, but for some odd reason, you're right a good number of times. So this year, Joseph, I'm with you in thinking that 106.7 Lite-FM will be going all Christmas after the last of the Trick-or-Treaters sort through their bags of candy and trade those Charleston Chews with their friends.

My prediction: 106.7 and 102.7 are all-Christmas this year. 95.5 will bow out this year, so that listeners have a place to go for those hits of yesterday and today. And 101.1 will be sitting, rocking back and forth in a fetal position with its fingers crossed repeating "it'll work, it'll work."

Without Joe Gallant, there is no Christmas on the radio...
