WLTW-WOW

What an amazing book for LITE FM! When was the last time a NYC station had that high of a share? When was the last time a NYC station had a 3 share lead over it's next nearest competitor. To put things in perspective, WLTW has a hgher share than all 3 CBS FMs combined!

Of course Christmas music was one of the reasons LITE did so extremely well this book. This year they didn't dilly dally around and leave it up to voters on their website, they just went ahead and went all-holiday like any good AC would that time of year. Which leads me to ask, in years past just WHO was so scared for LITE to go all-Christmas? WLTW could have done this well last year, the individual(s) who thought going all Christmas was too radical an idea cost the station ratings in years past. Oh well, there can be no doubt they learned their lesson. Congratulations to WLTW for a historical book.
 
WNEW needs to do something else

NEW is not helping themselves. They are only hurting KTU. Seems to me NEW needs to find something else to do.
How about bringing something that is needed in the market?

They took hits across the board, like 25-54 Adults - since Summer 2005 (3.2) they have slipped down almost a point. The morning show was never strong, but they are being beat by JACK 25-54 and losing mornings doesn't help the overall picture. Even 25-54 Adult middays where they were strong, they have lost just about a share since Summer.
 
Curiosity is over.

They (NEW) had the initial burst that stations get from curious listeners. But if you look at the numbers, the curiosity is over.
 
I would attribute WLTW's gigantic advantage to the fact that NOT ONE radio station competed with their own Christmas music mix.

Mark my words - expect two, maybe three, all-holiday stations in New York this year.<P ID="signature">______________
