CBS Radio was putting WCBS-FM back where it belongs. I think CBS will do good with having Fresh 102.7 and CBS-FM 101.1. Both will take ratings away from 106.7 lite-fm (I mean WLTW), thats what I think. CBS Radio was smart changing 102.7 to the Fresh AC format. I think we will hear CBS-FM being played in many places such as pizza places, etc. There are lots of people that love to hear lot of the old tunes. So I think places that had WLTW being played will change to CBS-FM. This as they don't wanna hear a Bee Gee song then hearing "Home" by Chris Daughtry right after. Thats what I say. But both a great for the work place. If you want a younger station thats soft put on Fresh. If you want 60s, 70s, and 80s put on CBS-FM. In all I think this will hurt WLTW. May even hurt Q104.3

It won't hurt New York's 106.7

Fresh signed on amid turmoil at 106.7 (3 DJs let go, Delilah added, "Lite" dropped). 106.7 has held its own because New York is now majority brown/black and the music blend reflects that fact. By contrast Fresh is lily-white.

A lot has happened in the last 25 months. The people who loved CBS-FM back then have died off or moved on. The only ones who love CBS-FM now are the fanboys, groupies and suckups.

There are lots of people who DON'T want to hear Beatles, Beach Boys, Motown and 60's ad infinitum. That music is burned out from being played all day every day for the past 25 years across the country.

There are lots of people who DON'T want album rock on a pop station during the day. WABC kept album cuts away from daytime for that reason.

Anyone who thinks everyone will come running back to 101.1 is drinking the CBS Radio Kool-Aid.

BTW, this week Fresh played "In the Air Tonight" by Phil Collins -- which was released in 1981.
