Louie sounds like every other AC/ACRock attempt in this town..this by no means is a "JACK"..this seems more of an attempt to scare the other competition of switching to an all out JACK format

Louie-FM

their playlist on mediabase doesn't look like any other AC rock format I've ever seen. Not sure about their "sound" on air (imaging, jocks, etc.) but it looks closer to a Jack than any hot ac format that's been around. It actually looks more like a female skewed Jack.

All I know is from the sound and the playlist..it's nothing that has not already been on the airwaves here in some form or another(maybe in other markets it sounds like a Jack)..essentialy it's just SFR/QMF with a sprinkle of The Max 102 & rehash 80's music from the old WPTI..which was not very open in it's 80's playlist to begin with..all I know is true Jack FM's go past the safe boundaries and don't cater to "office workers"

I remember the article the Courier-Journal ran on Louie had Clear Channel describing the station as a "more of a wide-listed Hot AC". In terms of music, Louie is Jack-compatible (minus this bizarre cover of "Give A Little Bit" they play). The station is jockless (unless if you count traffic reports). Imaging is definitely consistent with a Hot AC and not "snarky" like Jack. I would agree with the assessment that Louie is skewed towards females.

The things to watch: how 102.3 The Max fares (esepcially after Lambert and Lindsey were suspended), and how long Star 103.7 stays Hot AC-Frankfort is well within Louie's range, but Frankfort now has 3 Hot ACs (Mix 94.5, Star 103.7, CD 106.3) and a VH (Louie).<P ID="signature">______________

can you believe that Lambert & Lindsey ordeal?? good grief lol..I just think there is too much cross formatting going on in and around the Louisville market with AC Hybrids..I was hoping Louie FM would finally break the mold..but apparently broadcast radio just has not learned a thing from satellite

Louie-FM

Sorry, but in-office listening is EXACTLY what Jack stations go after. That's why the more music/less typical radio chatter thing is working so well. If Jack weren't going for at-work listens, they'd be nowhere.
