Word from a buddy at Cox Louisville sez (grudgingly) the V.H. station there Louie FM WLUE debuted through the roof, as high as number two in some demos.

Would Cox ever pcik up Jack? Might be a thought for one of their Dayton, OH FMs. At second thought, I can't see Cox EVER doing a format with over 400 songs.
______________

In Louisville, any VH station would affect Cox the most simply because they have an AC station, Oldies station, and a Classic Rock station. Radio One would be the next biggest loser with its Hot AC WXMA. Clear Channel also has a Classic Rock station (WQMF), but then again, they have Louie.
______________

I don't know that I see a VH station here in Dayton, at least fulltime as WMMX (Mix 1077) has taken the VH mantle with their "whatever weekends". History could repeat itself, however, as Cox's WDPT flipped to 80s after the popularity of the 80s weekends that Mix used to do...but again, it would take a major change for Cox to do a larger playlist.
______________

Yes, "Cox" and "larger playlist" are rarely mentioned in the same breath.

400 is pushing it, lol.

Speaking of Cox, whats up with their websites? Personally, I'm not fond of them. "Community Fun Site"? "Your Movie Listings Leader"?

Cox

typical formula stuff- it's on their airwaves and their websites. Everybody accuses CC of assembly-line radio but really Cox is THE biggest offender, by far.
