WLVO FM 106.1

This station is (was) local to me. The owner passed away in January and the station has been silent since. From what info I could gather locally, the license is still in the possesion of his estate. The studio has been emptied of all equipment and the large AMC-8 dish is gone from the roof. The tower is outside of town & still there. (I think it also has other services antennas on it such as public service/emt etc) Not sure if the transmitter is still on site. To those of you radio veterans, that know way more about this stuff than me, is there any way this thing could ever see the air again? They used to play a wide variety of rock, in this overly country-station populated area. Is there any way a little local guy could ever get possesion of such a thing or is it just a dream?

I always liked that station. I stopped in there one afternoon when I was passing through and hung out with the live DJ...he let me pick out an hour of music. Sorry to hear it's off the air.

According to the filings, they have filed for an STA to be off the air for 6 months, with intent to enter into an LMA to have someone else run the station. So...yes...I think there's a chance you could get ahold of it.

Best of luck...hope someone can return this station to the air.
