WLW bleeding account executives fast

Is it true that 3 local reps at WLW fired the station within the last week or so and have moved on? Yes, I mean they finally wised up and fired WLW and CC because of low ad rates and reduced potential commission. Is WLW and the rest of CC/Cincinnati imploding? Another example, on Cunningham's show on Monday, they ran a US Bank mortgage loan spot right after he did his LIVE pitch for McKinley Mortgage! Where's the attention to detail? Another example, in the same stop set the other day, they aired that spot with Jim Scott begging for new advertisers and then aired a spot looking for new sales dudes. Sounds like a lot of available inventory on 700. Is there honestly any reason why anyone who has any amount of knowledge about whats going on there would want to work for them? I could say more, but as always, Puff is a nice dragon!

So that's why I heard a spot looking for new account executives on WLW last night. CC is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

WCBS-AM in New York is doing this too. Not a big deal if you ask me. Pretty efficient use of inventory in this terrible economy, and listeners don't care. It's a commercial to them. Only radio geeks like Roger - I mean Puff care. Maybe some ads like these on 1480 would help you get the deal consumated?

Elephant: You are wrong on your guesses as usual. I promise you that I am not Roger and 1480 does run those announcements. So....what do you know that is CORRECT? You sound like a badly misinformed radio geek yourself, you know? I could say more and you know I can. But I'll stop here as usual because Puff is a nice dragon! However, you know what they say about elephants...big and slow and nothing left in the trunk! Shucks, I need to quit while I'm still a nice dragon!

Awfully defensive for someone who isn't Rog.
For the record, 1480 runs ads both for advertisers and for sales people. And they carry more paid crap programming than I've ever heard. And they still haven't secured their calls. And they have an AWOL morning jock. I won't say more because I'm not draggin', Puff.

Quit banging on the 1480 crew! They're a bunch of true radio guys and oldies lovers who are doing it with PASSION, something sorely lacking in radio today. There's a wide dial on both AM & FM, pick your favorite and listen. Let the DJO lovers listen tho their favorite station and wish them the best. As for account execs there's a lot of turnover in many stations, this is not a news flash to anyone in the business. Sales people have a tough job in the current economy and the current state of radio in general. Remember, no sales, no salaries...for anyone!
